What Happened to the Red Book? (It's Now the WV Real Estate Law Code Bible)

Where do I download the red book?

The Red Book didn’t go away — it became the West Virginia Real Estate Law Code Bible. If you’re looking for the old study guide, this is it, just far more complete.

For over 30 years, we gave students a simple bound copy of the WV Real Estate Commission’s law code to study from, since no national textbook covers West Virginia-specific law. Students nicknamed it the “Red Book.” The Law Code Bible is the modern, full-textbook version of that same idea: the actual WV law code laid out side-by-side with a plain-English explanation of what each part means and why it matters on your state exam.

Where to get it

Physical printed copy — $69.99, ships same day if ordered by noon

There should be a sticker on the cover of your Dearborn book we mailed you that gives you the links to get the student discounts. If you cannot find that reach out to us and we will provide them. We can't publish these links publicly as they are only discounted and free to our students.

Already enrolled? Check your course requirements first — depending on your enrollment package, a copy may already be included or available to you at a reduced price.

Why we wrote it

The WV real estate exam has a national portion and a state portion, and the state portion is where most people who fail actually fail — because it’s WV-specific law that generic national courses don’t teach at all. We’ve been writing our own WV law code study material since 1993 for exactly that reason. The Law Code Bible is a real, published, ISBN-registered textbook (ISBN 979-8-9925002-0-2) — not a photocopy — built entirely around West Virginia Real Estate Commission law that is tested on in the State Portion of the exam Pearson Vue proctors.
